Pirate girls soccer edged by Bowling Green

BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost to visiting non-conference foe Bowling Green 2-1 on Saturday, September 7, at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirate record fell to 4-2-1 overall after the defeat.
BG scored first in the 16th minute, and it stayed 1-0 almost to the midway point of the second half.
The visitors then doubled their lead to 2-0 on a goal in the 57th minute.
Pirate Jordan Schweingruber netted the lone Bluffton goal in the 65th minute.
Bluffton aimed 10 of their 15 shots on goal. All seven of the BG shots were on goal.
Pirate keeper Kynzie Ewing saved five shots, while the BG keeper was credited with nine stops in goal.
The Pirate reserves won the JV match, 5-0.
Bluffton visits winless foe Lima Central Catholic (0-5) Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.
