Tami L. Hardy taught at Bluffton Schools
Tami L. Hardy, 65, passed away September 14, 2024, at The Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center.
Tami was born July 29, 1959 in Bluffton to Luther and Geneva (Stamm) Shetler who preceded her in death. On May 31, 1982 she married Michael "Mick" Hardy and he survives.
Tami graduated from Bluffton High School before receiving her Master's Degree in Education at Bluffton College. She was a dedicated teacher at Bluffton Elementary School for over 30 years and was a member of First Mennonite Church of Bluffton. She loved cooking, gardening, animals, being outdoors, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael "Mick" Hardy of Bluffton; four children, Katie (Chris) Harner of Lima, Jeremy Hardy of Elida, Kyle (Katie Morvay) Hardy of Lima, and Jesse (Sarah) Hardy of Elida; ten grandchildren; three siblings, Jo Clemens of Bluffton, Terry Shetler of Colorado, Lu Derstine of Bluffton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Shetler.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024 at First Mennonite Church of Bluffton with Pastor Phil Yoder to officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
