Pirate boys basketball blitzes Toledo Woodward

BLUFFTON – The Bluffton High School boys basketball team dominated visiting Toledo Woodward 79-18 in a non-conference mismatch on Saturday, December 14.
The Pirates launched home five triples during the first period to build a whopping 32-10 lead.
Bluffton then piled on with a 23-2 second stanza to create a commanding 55-12 halftime cushion. The Pirates splashed nine three-pointers in the first half.
Blake Sommers poured in 16 first-half points on the strength of four triples.
Guard Marek Donaldson tallied a dozen points before intermission with two treys.
Terron Boblitt contributed 11 markers and three trifectas in the first half.
The Pirates authored a 17-2 third period as they outscored the hapless visitors 40-4 over the middle quarters.
Bluffton won the fourth quarter, 7-4.
The Pirates improved to 2-0 overall with the blowout win as 10 players scored.
Toledo Woodward fell to 0-5 after the lopsided defeat.
Sommers led the victors with 21 points to give him 52 markers over the first two games. Donaldson netted 15 points, while Kain Wright scored six of his 12 markers in the 32-point first quarter.
All 11 of Boblitt’s points came in the first half, including eight in the opening stanza.
Bluffton sank 20 two-point goals and buried 11 triples. The Pirates converted six of eight free throws (75 percent).
TW connected on six two-pointers and hit two treys. The visitors missed both of their foul shots (0 percent). They committed 14 turnovers.
Bluffton visits Paulding (1-3) Tuesday, December 17 in their first road game.
