Dennis G. Marquart worked at Bluffton Community Hospital

Dennis G. Marquart, 72, of Forest, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at home with his wife by his side. He was born April 7, 1952 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Solomon and Margery (Shellenbarger) Marquart. On February 10, 1978, Dennis married Nancy Bishop and she survives.  Together they adopted three children and took care of thirty medical needs foster children over a twenty year period.  

Dennis is survived by his wife Nancy Marquart of Forest and three children, Jason Marquart of Lima, Daniel (Amber Worley) Marquart of Forest and Bethany Marquart of Findlay.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Dennis Marquart Jr.

Dennis was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jenera. He attended the church school and went on to graduate from MLS (Michigan Lutheran Seminary). Dennis attended Northwestern Lutheran College in Wisconsin for one year until he had to withdraw due to an accident in which he was severely burned. He then went into the medical field, working at Bluffton Community Hospital in Bluffton, Ohio. His life was dedicated to health services and he gave his all. He worked for Bluffton Community Hospital which later became part of Blanchard Valley Health Systems for a total of forty-five years.  Dennis served in numerous positions including Director of Support Services. He was on the regional safety committee for Northwest, Ohio.  

Dennis enjoyed working in the garden and with his three Silver King tractors. He loved to attend his children’s events, going on day trips to make memories and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan.  

Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera with Pastor Matthew Nowak officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
