Pirate boys basketball blasts Rockets

PANDORA – The visiting Bluffton High School boys basketball team decisively defeated non-conference rival Pandora-Gilboa 70-44 on Saturday, January 25.

The Pirates bombed their way to a 23-6 lead after the first period behind five three-point goals, and were never behind. 

Guard Marek Donaldson nailed four first half triples as the victorious visitors built a 32-17 halftime lead. Bluffton pulled away with an 18-8 fourth quarter to win by 26.

The Pirates improved to 11-4 overall with the big win. Pandora-Gilboa fell to 8-6 after the defeat.
Donaldson led the victors with 20 points on six baskets and four free throws. Terron Boblitt tossed in 16 points with three triples. Kain Wright also tallied 15 markers on six field goals and three foul shots.

Landen Worcester contributed seven points.

Lane Lee led P-G with 13 points.

Bluffton connected on 14 two-point goals and splashed 10 big triples. The Pirates converted 12 of 17 free throws (71 percent).

P-G canned 12 two-pointers and drained five trifectas. The Rockets converted five of eight foul shots (63 percent).
