Sign-ups for Bluffton Buccaneers midget football will be Thursday, May 27, from 6-7:30 at the Middle School cafeteria. Parents can also register their child at www.blufftonbucs.com, according to Mac Davies.

St. John's United Church of Christ, will offer a program "Through the Garden Gate for Flowers of Blessing." The program is at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 10, in Opperman Hall at the church.

"You are invited to a special presentation where Sam Richenbach and his daughter-in-law, Tina, highlight their creativity through floral arrangements, music and Bible scriptures," said Rev. Bruce Steinhard, pastor.

The students of Krysti's Music Studio will present their spring recitals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Rockport United Methodist Church (5505 Rockport Road), and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

I've been back in Bluffton almost two weeks, but my thoughts keep returning to my latest visit to New Mexico. Mind-pictures keep flooding back and need a listening ear, or eye, to share the experience. So join me as we look at a few snapshots.

William "Kaiser" Gaiffe was the chief of police in Bluffton in the 1960s. He was also the cemetery sexton, in charge of the village crew and held several other unofficial village posts, to numerous to mention. This classic photo of a small town police chief was probably taken by Charles Hilty. We welcome "Gaiffe" stories from any viewers.

Bluffton fire and EMS personnel were called to a structural fire on South Main Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday, May 24. The building, at the rear of 314 S. Main St., is owned by the Koch family. A biker passing the building said that he saw flames and called the fire department. The fire is under investigation.
