Fifty-one years ago, Marvin Gaye released his album titled, What’s Going On that included the hit single by the same name. The album was released on May 21, 1971 and was hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as a thematic approach to social and political issues. The song was a response to violence and riots in the United States related to the war in Vietnam, as well as race relations. 

This week Allen County Regional Transit Authority will be running one of the blue and green large vans on the Delphos/Bluffton routes instead of a big bus.

If you ride the routes, please look for a van.

Safer Ohio tip line reminder

In accordance with the orders issued by the President of the United States of America and in remembrance of the 19 children and 2 teachers who were killed in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Governor DeWine has ordered that the flags of the United States and the State of Ohio be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the State of Ohio until sunset on May 28, 2022.

The Safer Ohio program provides ways to report suspicious activity, request roadside help and real-time traffic.

Dina Tadena is retiring after working at the Bluffton Middle School as a math teacher for the past 22 years. She previously taught at the Apollo Career Center High School and has a combined total of 34 years at area schools. The total number of students she taught? What would you guess?

Bluffton's third floor meeting room was packed on the evening of Monday, May 23, as Village Council met for their regular meeting, but much of the discussion was anything but regular. More than forty spectators were on hand.

SWEARING IN OF NEW POLICE OFFICER

The first order of business was Mayor Rich Johnson performing the solemn duty of swearing in a new police officer. Skyler Noble took the oath as the Village's newest full-time officer, and afterward received a hearty round of applause.
