Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) announces it has been recognized as a recipient of the Platinum Governor’s Award for Excellence by The Partnership for Excellence (TPE), a Baldrige-based awards program for Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana.
This is the highest-level Excellence Award TPE offers, and BVHS is the only health system to have received it this year.

For female athletes training at any level of play and age, one of the challenges they may face is how to properly fuel with food. Nutrition is a vital piece in performing and competing well. If done incorrectly, performance is not the only impacted factor.
Betty Bianchi, activity aide at Birchaven Village, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, has been selected by the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) as its Hero of Long-Term Care for May 2019. OHCA honors one long-term care employee each month for their service to long-term caregivers, residents and the community.
Bianchi will be featured on the OHCA website (ohca.org) during the month of May and recognized at the Association’s 2020 Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
Bridge Home Health & Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, is offering a “Sprouting Hope” grief support program that allows children ages 6 to 12 to come together with their peers and participate in activities that will help them express their feelings, create lasting memories of their loved ones and have fun.
This event will take place on Thursday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
The final presentation of the “Living through Loss” series will be held on Monday, May 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and titled “Reinvesting in Life: Discussing Growth, Reconciliation and Renewal.” This presentation will take place in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital located at 1900 South Main Street in Findlay.
