Bluffton Public Library is hosting two exciting teen programs to celebrate the release of the new film "The Hunger Games," based on Suzanne Collin's best-selling trilogy.

First, the library's lower level will be transformed into the "Capitol Day Spa" on Tuesday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m., where teens can get pampered by local make-up and nail artists.

Mark your calendars now to attend "A Victorian Tea," sponsored by the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library. The tea will be held Thursday, April 12, at 5:45 p.m. in the Richland Room of the library at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Christie Weininger, director of the Wood County Historical Center and Museum, will present "The Victorian Secret: The Secret beneath the Shape." The presentation will show examples of the ladies' fashions during the 1870s and 1880s. She will demonstrate how the changing roles of women in society prompted changes in the fashions during the Victorian Era.

Local teens will be tuning in at the library as Bluffton Public Library celebrates the annual Teen Tech Week March 4-10. They join thousands of other libraries and schools across the country that are celebrating this year's theme, "Geek Out @ your library(R)."

Teen Tech Week is a national initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) aimed at teens, their parents, educators and other concerned adults.

Join Bluffton Public Library's book discussion group as it follows Enaiatollah Akbari's remarkable five year search for asylum. In the Sea there are Crocodiles, by Fabio Geda, is a true account of Enaiatollah's dangerous escape from Afghanistan and is Bluffton Public Library's next book discussion title.

The discussion will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e in Bluffton.

To celebrate Library Lovers' Month, the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is holding its annual membership drive. For a donation of $5, anyone can become a Friend of the Library.

Membership forms are available at the library's circulation desk. Contributions will help maintain the programs and services the community of Bluffton expects from its library.
