Bluffton University’s Winter Instrumental Concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Dr. J. Denny Weaver, professor emeritus of religion, returned to Bluffton University’s campus to celebrate the release of, “New Moves: A Theological Odyssey.” The theological memoir follows Weaver’s career as a theologian and the development of his nonviolent understanding of Jesus’ atonement.

Maurice Broaddus, a writer, community organizer and teacher, will share, “Journey of an Afrofuturist,” during Bluffton’s English Festival Forum at 11 a.m. on Feb. 27 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Starting in fall 2024, Bluffton University students will have the opportunity to major in environmental science. Housed in the department of health sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, the program will provide students a broader understanding of the natural and built worlds around them through classes in biology, chemistry, geology, and soil, water and climate sciences. 

On Friday, Feb. 16, between the women’s and men’s basketball games against Defiance College, Bluffton University will reveal which students are in the J. Denny and Jenny Beaver suits. The women’s game starts at 6 p.m. in the Sommer Center, and the reveal is expected to take place at approximately 7:15 p.m. Game tickets can be purchased at www.bluffton.edu/reveal

A social work major at Bluffton University, Amanda (Fogle ’05) Sigmon, returned to campus for Bluffton’s weekly Forum series on Feb. 6 to share the benefits of a growth mindset.
