Men's soccer: Goshen sneaks out with 2-1 win at Bluffton in double overtime

Bluffton fell to 0-4 with the loss, their second straight in double overtime.

Women's soccer: Bluffton improves to 2-1 with 4-2 win over Goshen

The Bluffton University women's soccer team defeated Goshen 4-2 in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 10. Bluffton improved to 2-1, while the Maple Leafs fell to 2-2 following their loss to the Beavers.

Wellness topic of Sept. 20 Bluffton Forum

Elizabeth Pierson of Franklin County (Ohio) Public Health will answer the question "What Is Wellness?" during a Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Founders Hall. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

Pierson is the county health department's epidemiologist for planning and assessment. She prepares and provides data for strategic planning; assists with quality improvement initiatives, accreditation and grant preparation and coordination; and works in collaboration with several partner agencies.

30 university students help, learn at drug summit

Thirty Bluffton students, along with Heather Koontz, assistant professor of social work, were among the more than 900 people who attended a Sept. 8 community summit on bath salts and opiates at the Lima Civic Center.

The students worked as volunteers at the event, where they helped park cars, greet people at the door and collect cards for attendees' continuing education units, among other services.

University volleyball: Bluffton takes down Susquehanna and Frostburg

Jenna Eshleman named HCAC Player of the Week

Jenna Eshleman (Landisville, Penn./Hempfield) has been named the Heartland Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 4, 2011. It marks the third time Eshleman has been named HCAC Player of the Week for volleyball.
