University theatre presentation created for Zoom

Last spring when the university transitioned to remote learning, Dr. Melissa Friesen, professor of theatre, was forced to stop rehearsals of Bluffton University’s annual musical. While necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the result was disappointing for all involved.

“High on my list for the fall was to pick something that could go forward no matter what,” explained Friesen. “I wanted to ensure that we could provide theatre opportunities for both our students and the community.”

Volleyball: Beavers 5-0 with fall slate completed

Will play again in January

The Bluffton University volleyball team persevered through a fractured fall, going 5-0 thanks to a pair of wins at Manchester University on Sunday, Oct. 25.

The fall season is now complete for a Beaver squad that will tackle the Heartland Conference starting in January as part of a modified schedule that will see Bluffton play nine doubleheaders against all of its conference foes.

You'll have to wait until Feb. 27 to see the Beavers play again

Darian Greeley put up the most rushing yards for a Beaver since Elbert Dubenion went for 294 in 1955. His 285 yards on 41 carries is 3rd on the all time list behind Dubenion and Mike Goings

The Bluffton University football team took advantage of its lone opportunity to compete this fall, running to a 28-21 victory over Adrian College on a chilly Saturday, Oct. 24. Adrian slipped to 1-2 on the season, while the Beavers head into the spring with a 1-0 mark.

The plan was evident from the first snap of the game when Bluffton handed the ball to Darian Greeley (Belleville, Mich./Chippewa Valley) and he took it 11 yards for a first down.

Beaver volleyball team wins season opener at Adrian

The Bluffton University volleyball team showed off both its flexibility and talent when the Beavers traveled to Adrian College on Oct. 17, for the 2020 season opener.

After having its Tuesday matches against Trine canceled and the Saturday date with Manchester shelved, Bluffton shifted gears with a trip to Adrian that came together on Friday.

The Beavers took the first two sets before dropping the third. A convincing 25-14 win in the fourth set propelled the visitors to a 1-0 mark on the season.
