Environmental and industrial service companies Interdyne Corporation and Trans Vac, Inc. are under new ownership. Long-time employees Clint Rolland and Bill Bresson joined previous owners Dan Lucke and Brad Prater. Lucke and Powell Prater purchased the companies in 1989.

“I was pleasantly surprised when asked about joining ownership in the companies where I have worked the last 21 years” said Rolland, “I am excited for this opportunity to grow professionally and I am ready to face the challenges that come with this new responsibility.”

Stratton Greenhouses, 9915 Lincoln Highway, Bluffton, celebrate its 66th anniversary this weekend with an open house from Friday, May 1, to Sunday, May 3.

The event includes food, drawings and several special offers.

Bluffton author, Elaine Sommers Rich, who recently celebrated her 89th birthday, will hold a book signing and reading at Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., Bluffton, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, according to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager.

The book, published in 1966 by Herald Press was released earlier this year by Wipf and Stock Publishers and is titled: “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow: Youth Serve in a Mental Hospital.”

Treva Stratton was recognized by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce with three books donated in her name to the Bluffton Public Library.

The book titles: "Chocolate Hair, Vanilla Care," "Fabulous Teen Hairstyles," and "Braids, Buns and Twists," are now in circulation.

Town and Country Flowers, 121 S. Main St., hosts the Thursday, April 16, Bluffton downtown cash mob. Watch for the "Cash Mob" banner hanging in front of the store as a reminder.

Connie Kruse of the shop said that during cash mob hours from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. all in-store merchandise is 40 percent off.

In addition, all visitors to the store during cash mob hours may register for a $50 shopping spree.
