Stratton Greenhouses open house this weeekend

Stratton Greenhouses, 9915 E. Lincoln Highway, Bluffton, will host a spring open house Friday through Sunday, April 29-May 1.

A free tomato plant (1 per family) will be given away to customers. A free pair of gloves will be given away to persons making purchases of $100 or more.

Strattton's has new nursery stock arriving daily. The business has over 30,000 wave petunia plants in 209 carriers and hanging baskets.

Bluffton farmer's market opening day Saturday, May 7

The 2011 season of the Bluffton farmer's market begins on Saturday, May 7, in the Citizens National Bank parking lot, according to Peter Previte, market coordinator. Look for more information on The Icon next week about opening day information.

On April 25 Bluffton council received a copy of the Allen Economic Development Group's (AEDG) year end report of activities for 2010.

Jeff Sprague of Bluffton, vice president of AEDG, presented the report to council. AEDG is an Icon advertiser.

Icon welcomes Krysti's Music Studio as newest advertiser

Krysti's Music Studio, Bluffton, is The Icon's newest advertiser. The Studio owner is Krysti (Groman) Schey. She is a pianist, composer, teacher.

She is a Bluffton High School graduate. She received a master's of music in piano performance/piano pedagogy from Bowling Green State University in 2010. As a graduate assistant at BGSU, she taught class piano. Schey obtained her bachelor's degree in music with concentrations in piano performance, piano pedagogy and music business from Bluffton University.
