WEN luncheon Monday at Jeanne's Kitchen

A Bluffton Entrepreneurial Network (WEN) luncheon is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Jeanne's Kitchen on Vine Street.

WEN, a member of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, is open to women and men. The luncheon is an opportunity for businesses to promote what they do.

The luncheon is $8 per person and is open to the public.

Ten Thousand Villages has Caribbean food booth during arts and crafts festival

Ten Thousand Villages, South Main Street, invites Icon viewers to visit its shop during the Saturday, May 21, arts and crafts festival, says Aphaphanh Nussbaum, store manager.

"Come visit our store during the arts and crafts festival to savor flavors of the Caribbean," she said. "Come sample our coffee and new chocolates, from 10 a.m. until the supplies last. Twenty percent of our sales on Saturday will be donated to the work of Mission Possible in Haiti."

Kris Lowry joins First National Bank

Kris Lowry

Kris Lowry recently joined the staff of First National Bank as a mortgage originator.

Lowry brings over 20 years of experience in the real estate and banking industries to her position. She is active in seeral civic and community activities including the Heartland Board of Realtors, Habitat for Humanity, and is a past President of the Flag City Chapter of BNI.

As a mortgage originator, she is responsible for overseeing loan origination in Hancock, Wood and Putnam counties.

First National Bank of Pandora asks consumers, "Do you Kasasa?" as it becomes the newest financial institution in Ohio to launch one of the country's most innovative financial products.

Kasasa is a new brand of free checking and savings accounts that pays consumers to use their account with what interests them most - high interest, automatic savings or digital downloads from iTunes or Amazon.com.

These accounts offer residents a better checking account option than the mega bank experience.

Shows are nightly at 7 and 9:30 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 p.m.

Preparations underway for BCE's third annual art auction

Preparation for Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs third annual art benefit auction has begun with a call to artists.

The event is an opportunity for artists to increase their visibility among local buyers. A 25 percent commission is returned to participating artists. The art auction is held at The Centre, Bluffton, on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Artists whose works are selected with be invited to attend the auction and dinner as a guest of BCE.

Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 28. A preview day will be held one week prior to the auction.
