The last day of business for Blended Roots, an arts and crafts consignment store at 246 Cherry St., is Saturday, December 24.

Shop manager Katelyn Gainok also told the Icon that she will proceed with plans for the spring arts and crafts show and has contacted the village and Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce about continuing this local tradition.

A date has not yet been set for the event.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the residents and businesses selected as best holiday lights and decorations competition winners for the 2022 holiday season.

The new “Chamber Choice” award for residences not entered in the competition resulted in a 3-way tie.

The committee of judges was coordinated by Derek Dukes of Southgate Lanes.

Residential and business account holders targeted

Dominion Energy is sharing the following “scam red flags” and urging customers to watch out for utility scammers. This advice applies to scam calls in general.

"Even if the caller ID says Dominion Energy, our customers should be on alert about demands for immediate payment and threats of service disconnection," said Utibe Bassey, Dominion Energy's vice president of Customer Experience. "That is not how we do business. When any warning sign is present, hang up. Never share personal information."

Beginning in late December, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will spend several months gathering information about farm economics and production practices from farmers and ranchers  across Ohio, as the agency conducts the third and final phase of the 2022 Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS). 

Citizens National Bank (CNB) has named Kristen Yost Branch Operations Manager of their Bluffton office. In this position, Kristen is responsible for branch oversight, including daily operations, sales and financial performance.

Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Communications from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has worked at Citizens National Bank since 2021 as a Customer Service Representative, having worked in customer service positions for several years prior to that.

On December 1 it became official, Chase Mason is the new owner of Padrone's Pizza of Bluffton, 147 N. Main. The 33-year-old single dad has been managing the business since the last week of September and has worked on and off for Padrone’s pizzarias for 15 years.

Mason comes to Bluffton from Defiance but has family here. “It’s definitely a wonderful town,” he said of the village.
