The beast comes to Pandora in August. It’s a friendly beast.

The Riley Creek Singers present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” in four shows over the Friday-Sunday, Aug. 12 to 14 weekend.

According to Kevin Augsburger, director, shows are:
• 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12
• 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13
• 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13
• 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14

All performances are in the Pandora Gilboa School auditeria. Tickets are now on sale at the Riley Creek Pharmacy, Main Street, Pandora. All tickets are $15 each.

PrimeTimers will meet at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora.

 PrimeTimers is a non-denominational, community fellowship gathering for adults 55 and over hosted at St. John Mennonite Church in Pandora.  It is a ministry of St. John and the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.

This event will feature the music of Phil Schey.

The meal will include: fried chicken, hash brown casserole, scalloped corn, coleslaw, rolls, banana sour cream cake.

Ada’s Farmer and Merchants Picnic horse show attracts horse owners from a wide area and this year’s show should be no different.

The show is an Ohio Western Horse Associationapproved point show event, according to Jennifer Moshier, judge. It will conducted by O.W.H.A. rules.

This year’s show schedule, with all events taking place in the Ada park during the Farmers and Merchants Picnic, follows:

Saturday, Aug. 13
• 8 a.m. – Contest classes
• 9 a.m. – Halter classes
• Lunch break
• Performance classes

Plans are underway for this year’s Bluffton Fall Festival.

This year’s event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24. Several locations in the community will have activities and those will be announced as plans are finalized.

Here are events planned at Mennonite Memorial Home:

Silent auction, bake sake, luncheon, kettle corn, horse and wagon ride, straw dig, photo booth and kiddie train rides.

Maple Crest

Apple crisp and cinnamon ice cream, antique tractor show, kiddie tractor pull, fishing derby and more to be announced.

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, in St. Mary's Catholic Church.
