The ninth annual Ohio Has Talent! competition returns to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert on Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m.

The benefit show raises funds for Community Health Professionals Hospice patient care fund. This year’s show features 18 local and regional performers competing for $1,000, $500 and $250 prizes determined by audience votes.

The registration form for craft vendors interested in having a booth at the Saturday, May 14, Bluffton arts and crafts show, is now available on the internet.

The registration form all the information need to have a booth is on the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce website www.explorebluffton.com.

Community Health Professionals will hold an inside garage sale Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26 and 27, according to Deb Curlis.
 
Persons may rent a table for $10 to display items and must be present during open hours to take care of your own sales.
 
Set up is Thursday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 
Sale hours are:
• Friday, Feb. 26: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 27: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Several events are planned in February by the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. Those events follow:

On Saturday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District and will offer maple fest' volunteer training and pancake breakfast at McElroy Environmental Education Center.

Experienced and new volunteers are welcome to attend. Call 419-221-1232 to register by Feb. 18.

The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership is sponsoring a Rain Barrel Decorating Contest at the Greater Findlay Home Show Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6, at the Findlay Village Mall.

Thirty-three Rain Barrels have been entered in this year’s contest.  All Rain Barrels will be on display at the Home Show on March 5-6.  Plan to stop at the Findlay Mall and vote for your favorite Rain Barrel.

The three categories this year are:
1). Agricultural Theme,
2). Watershed Theme and
3). General Theme. 

Book ReViews will host a book signing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, featuring Dr. Bruce Maccabbe’s two books “Abduction in my Family: A novel of alien encounters,” and a second book, “The FBI, CIA UFO Connection: The Hidden UFO Activities of USA Intelligence Agencies.”
 
The novel of alien encounters is a book of fiction. The UFO activities book is non-fiction.
 
The author holds a doctorate in physics. For 36 years he was employed at Naval Surface Warfare Center in optical data processing.
