Kick-off your holiday shopping on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 2-4 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave., in Bluffton. Stop in anytime for cash and carry items, free samples and refreshments.

Making his debut will be Larry Battle, with Larry’s Cakes. These delicious pound cakes will be available for sampling. Orders for the holidays can be placed. Cakes come in all sizes to feed the smallest or largest family gathering.

Bluffton Relay For Life will hold a quarter auction/bingo from 6:30-9:30 on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium. Those attending will play bingo and bid on gift baskets donated by Origami Owl, Thirty One, Jamberry Nails, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, and  It Works.

Food will be available. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Santa Claus is coming to town, thanks to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

He'll be here four Saturdays in a row, so your chances to talk with him are excellent. (Mrs. Claus comes with him on Saturday, Nov. 29).

Apollo Career Center Floral students will be holding a Christmas Open House, Believe in the Magic of Christmas from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Friday Dec. 5, in the Floral  Design lab.

Currently, the lab is being housed behind the main building, and can only be accessed from the Shawnee Road entrance. For more information, please contact Joe Warnement, floral instructor, at 419.998.2934.

The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., will hold its its sixth annual "cans for cookies" event this month.

The event is Nov. 17-29. Here's how it works: Bring in canned goods to The Dough Hook and get a cookie for each item donated.

For example, bring in 12 items and get a dozen free cookies. All donated food will be given to the Bluffton Food Pantry.
