The popular painting programs will continue this winter through BFR Sports & Fitness. Paint & Sip programs are planned for Sunday, Feb. 8 (1:30-4:30 p.m.), Thursday, March 12 (6-9 p.m.) and Thursday, April 9 (6-9 p.m.).
Each event includes instruction from Marilyn Reed of Marilyn’s Artistry, Ada, all art supplies, appetizers and one glass of a specialty, wine beverage.
The February project is a 16x20 floral design in acrylic. The March project will include glass painting on two wineglasses and a decorative caddy. Plans for April include painting on slate.
Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., Bluffton, will host Bluffton University English professor, Susan Carpenter, for book signing and reading from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17.
Dr. Christina Walton, Book ReViews manager, said that the event is open to the public.

Join Bluffton-Pandora's oldest tradition at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve. New year's carolers will sing David Rothen's carols in German at Mennonite Memorial Home. Following caroling at MMH the singers will go to Maple Crest. This is a program of the Swiss Community Historical Society and the public is invited to participate.

Tommy Tire is sponsoring a free showing of "Night At The Museum; Secret of the Tomb" at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Shannon Theatre. All are welcome, but seating is limited so it's first come first serve. Small popcorn and drink will be provided as well.
Expect a standing-room-only crowd in the Bluffton High School gym on Monday. It's the date of the annual Bluffton elementary Christmas concert set for 1:30 p.m.

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music closes out the year with an ONU Jazz Band concert on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. and a performance by the ONU Wind and Symphony Orchestras on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. Both shows will be held at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
The ONU Jazz Band concert, titled “Basie and Beyond,” will swing out to Basie classics and feature many student soloists, the ONU Jazz Combo and guest trumpet soloist David Sycks, current band director at Bluffton High School.
