Time for some music Saturday night in the town hall

Calico Skies, a  two-piece, guitar-and-violin duo based out of Findlay, will perform from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Bluffton town hall. The performance is part of the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Town Hall Concert Series, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.

The duo plays Celtic, folk, rock, pop, and country music, including songs from artists such as Cat Stevens, Electric Light Orchestra, The Rolling Stones, and the Moody Blues.

Children's author has book signing and reading at Book ReViews Nov. 1

Book Reviews will host a book signing and reading from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, for Candace L. Newland’s book "Pekoe," which was published in February. 

Newland’s book, written for children, focuses on an abandoned kitten and its journey to find a home. The story is pulled from the author’s personal experience with pets, acceptance, and disabilities. "Pekoe" is a “story of compassion and acceptance, challenge and courage,” according to Dr. Christina Walton, manager of Book ReView.

BFR invites you to a "friendly" Halloween afternoon

Don't worry - it's a friendly Halloween party.

BFR Sports & Fitness will provide a free Halloween event from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday,
Oct. 26, at the center on Snider Road, Bluffton.

The party will include games, crafts, and snacks for families with young children. 

A costume judging contest is scheduled for 3 p.m., with divisions for:

Gluten Free/Food Allergy group to meet Oct. 27

Gluten Free & Food Allergy Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the Bluffton Public Library. The guest speaker is Jordan Mattice from JK Juices. Jordan and her business partners make and sell the fresh juices at the Bluffton Farmers Market.

Jordan will be talking about the different types of juicers, hintsand tips
for picking the best fruits and veggies for juicing, and how JK started
their business.

Halloween Spooktakular Oct. 25 at Camp Berry

Local Bluffton Boy Scout Troop #256 will in have a scare station at
the Halloween Spooktakular scheduled from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at Camp Berry, near Findlay. Participants can walk the trails and visit scare stations designed by Boy Scout troops and Venture Crews. All participants will be allowed to choose from colored glow necklaces: red-no scare, yellow - medium scare, green - scare a lot.

Tree walk on university campus Oct. 24

Icon viewers are invited to a tree walk on the Bluffton University campus. Meet at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, in front of Marbeck Center. Joanne Antibus will lead the walk. Participants may admire and identify trees. The walk is open to the public.
