The November meeting of the Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Bluffton Town Hall, 3rd Floor.
Several items will be discussed including a logo for the Society, accepting artifacts and their condition and relevancy, and beginning discussions on a fundraising campaign. (Continues)

Members of the League of Women Voters of the Lima Area are launching their annual membership drive with an informal reception at The Shawnee Station, 2228 Shawnee Road on Monday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m.
Members are encouraged to attend to participate in dialogue on ways to encourage voter registration, provide educational programs and promote participation in the democratic process.
Veterans Day honors men and women who have served in the United States armed forces, on the anniversary of the end of World War I at the 11th hour, of the 11th day in 1911. However, in 2023 it will be observed on Friday, November 10.
Bluffton American Legion members Commander Larry Core, Sam Reinenke,Tom Benroth and Kurt Emans will make a flag folding presentation at the Bluffton Middle School for 4th graders, involving four classrooms.
The Bluffton American Legion will have a Veterans Day program in the Bluffton HIgh School Gym at 8:00 a.m.
Veterans Day ceremonies will be held at the Mennonite Memorial Home at 2:00 p.m. and at Maple Crest and Willow Ridge at 3:00 p.m.
You are invited to be part of the November 25 Blaze of Lights parade. Chairperson Junior Weihrauch has mailed invitations to organizations that have been part of the Blaze tradition.
The invitation reads, "From Victorian carolers to retro 1950s-inspired decorations to modern displays. Use your imagination and creativity to create an entry that celebrates Christmas traditions."
MT. CORY__Kaleidoscope Farms is continuing its long-standing tradition of inviting local veterans out to the farm to select Christmas trees to send to troops stationed overseas during the holidays. This year the event will be on at 2:00 p.m. on November 5, the Sunday prior to Veteran’s Day.
“We get to celebrate Veteran’s Day in a special way at Kaleidoscope Farms,” said Dave Reese, farm owner. “We participate in Ohio’s Operation Evergreen Program that sends around 100 Christmas trees from the state’s Christmas tree growers, complete with handmade ornaments, to troops stationed overseas for the holidays.”
