Shannon Theatre will give a free 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, showing of the 2009 film “Public Enemies” starring Johnny Depp.
The free matinee is part of the Bluffton History Day events, recalling the 90th anniversary of John Dillinger’s 1933 robbery of Citizens National Bank of Bluffton. Dillinger robbed the Bluffton bank at noon on Aug. 14, 1933, escaping with $2,100.
Seven eye-witnesses of the 1933 John Dillinger robbery of Citizens National Bank, Bluffton, will be portrayed by family members during the Saturday, Aug. 12, retelling of the robbery in downtown Bluffton.
The event is part of Bluffton History Day, recalling the 90th anniversary of the Dillinger robbery that took place Aug. 14, 1933, when Dillinger escaped with $2,100.
The August 1 Bluffton-Pandora celebration of National Night Out (NNO) had an excellent turnout for an evening of free summer fun. In and around the Bluffton Community Pool, 205 Snider Rd., the Bluffton and Pandora police departments coordinated a bounty of food, drinks and activities. The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce coordinated fireworks and their funding by member donors.
ArtSpace/Lima, in partnership with the Allen County Museum, will present the exhibition ‘Good Vibrations’ as part of celebrations for the opening of the new Pangle Pavilion amphitheater and Al Jardine’s return to his hometown to perform on August 4. Jardine is a founding member of the Beach Boys.
Steiner and Naylor lead September classes at First Mennonite
J.P. Schumacher has organized a new series of courses to give individuals who would like to continue learning past the traditional student age. Continued Learning Elder Organization (C.L.E.O.) will provide four weekly courses beginning Monday, September 11 at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson.
