Lima artist H.A. (Herb) Vonderau has several paintings on exhibit in November at Common Grounds coffee shop on Main Street, Bluffton. The artist does house and people portraits and other themes. He attended Ft. Wayne Art Institute, Community College of Rhode Island and Rhodes State College.
He teaches drawing classes at Otterbein Assisted Living Homes, Cridersville. His work has been featured in galleries in Rhode Island, Florida, Ohio and Indiana. His work is also regularly featured in local coffee houses.
Mennonite Home Health in partnership with Northwest Physical Therapy will offer a balance screening on from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11 from in the Patio room at Maple Crest Senior Living Village.
The screening is for persons who feel unsteady, dizzy and having frequent falls. Educational materials will be available along with mobility and home safety information

"A Wing and a Prayer," is the fall Bluffton High School drama presented at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7, at the middle school cafetorium.

The Mennonite Memorial Home Women's Service Group will hold a Thanksgiving bake sale in the Home lobby, 410 W. Elm St., on Friday, Nov. 20. Bake sale hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Items include cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pies, bread, cakes and other dishes for Thanksgiving.
