The April 2023 issue of the Bluffton Senior Center's Golden Age News notes, "The flowers are blooming and Spring is in the air. I always love Spring, except for the allergies. Winter almost felt like Spring but here’s hoping Spring doesn’t feel like Summer. Happy Easter and happy Spring everyone."

Among announcements for activities and programs is a reminder to members about the monthly dinner meeting:

FINDLAY--Eggs were essential on the farm and were easy to come by as most pioneers raised chickens. Mrs. Boylan will be frying eggs on the cookstove, brewing fresh coffee and talking with guests about the many ways pioneers cooked with eggs. Stop by the wagon shed to visit with the chickens and see if any of the hens have laid eggs.

Litzenberg Memorial Woods, McKinnis House. 1-4:00 p.m.
All ages are welcome. Free; registration is not required.

Apollo Career Center superintendent Keith Horner has issued the following invitation to the communities served by the ACC high school:

Greetings from Apollo Career Center!

This is your official invitation to one of our biggest celebrations. We are always excited this time of year because of the great events ahead: Signing Day, National Honor Society Induction and Senior Honors Night.

One that may be of particular interest to you is ApolloPalooza, Thursday, April 13, 5:30-7:00 p.m. ApolloPalooza is a campus-wide, community celebration of partnerships, programs, students, alumni, community members and career tech education. Apollo Career Center, unlike most public schools, does not have the traditional extracurricular activities that allow us to open the building to the public. Furthermore, high school and adult classes are happening day and night so the campus is always in use. For ApolloPalooza, all labs and classrooms, adult education and high school, will be open for tours, demos and hands-on activities.

A Bluffton Community First Responders Appreciation Breakfast was hosted by Bluffton Middle School students on March 31. The event was heartwarming as well as somber. It marked the first anniversary of the line of duty death of Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis and it provided the students with an opportunity to express their appreciation to the men and women who protect our community as well as respond to emergencies on the roads, in workplaces and in our homes.

Due to the weather forecast calling for high winds and rain, the Village Of Beaverdam Easter Egg Hunt will be moved to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2 at Village Park.

Organizers noted, "We want to keep everyone safe. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

NATURE FOOLS
At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer Nature Fools at the McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Rd. Lima.
