Mount Cory celebrates Sesquicentennial

Historical summary below festival events

The village of Mount Cory was established in 1872 and on Saturday, September 17, the community will be celebrate its Sesquicentennial.  A parade and festival will mark the 150th Anniversary of its founding.

2:00 p.m. - Sesquicentennial Parade (Legacy Coop to Village Park)
3:00-5:00 p.m. - Romick’s Railway rides
3:00-6:45 p.m. - Baskets-Prize Raffle in park Community Building
3:00-7:00 p.m.

Ada's Harvest & Herb Festival is Sept. 17

On Saturday, September 17, downtown Ada will forget about business as usual and celebrate the 36th annual Harvest & Herb Festival. This year, 140 different vendors with 160 booths will line Main Street from Quest Federal Credit Union to Ohio Northern University. 

If you are accustomed to parking on Main Street in the wee hours of the morning, note that it will close at 6:00 a.m. and cars may be towed if left in the festival area.

Parade entry invitation for November 26 Blaze of Lights

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce invites community organizations and businesses to participate in the 2022 Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade on Saturday, November 26.

Sept. 8 ArtWalk in Lima includes Bluffton artists, alumni

ArtSpace/Lima and Downtown Lima have issued an invitation to take a stroll or the trolley through downtown Lima to see ArtWalk 2022 with 22 artists on display. The event will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on September 8.

Artwork will be displayed at 19 locations throughout the downtown area with artists available to talk about their work. Special deals will be available at selected business.

Polishing the Mirror exhibit at university gallery

Bluffton University is hosting the art exhibit “Polishing the Mirror” through October 15 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Sauder Visual Arts Center. 

Referring to the Ram Dass text, “Polishing the Mirror” is a collection of recent works that engage the idea of creative practice and the ritual of artmaking as a path towards awareness of oneself and the world. 

The exhibit will feature works from faculty-artists Andreas Baumgartner ’08, Jim Fultz, T.R. Steiner and Philip Sugden.

Helping Ohio birds is subject of Sept. 6 gardeners meeting

Gardeners of the Bluffton Pandora Area will hold their first fall meeting at the Bluffton Public Library on September 6. 

The invitation: "Autumn is just beginning, we all know winter will be here before we know it. As you prepare your gardens for the upcoming cold season don’t forget about helping the local birds who must endure living outside in freezing temperatures with little available food.
