Vocal groups (3-8 members) are being sought to provide all types of Christmas music before and after the Blaze parade on Saturday, November 26, in downtown Bluffton.

Groups can be a cappella or accompanied by acoustic guitar and should be prepared to sing 3-4 songs.

Beginning at 4 p.m., until the start of the parade at 5 p.m., these vocal groups will, independently, roam Bluffton’s Main Street sidewalks, alleys, gazebo, businesses, and perhaps the Main Street stage, serenading guests awaiting the beginning of the parade.

The Blended Roots Fall Arts and Crafts Festival will take place from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15. 

Two performances of Swing!--a Broadway song-and-dance show--are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts in Ada.

The Village of Bluffton has announced the following public meetings:

Bluffton Beyond Tomorrow Open House - Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. @ Bluffton Middle School Cafetorium

Cemetery Board - Thursday, October 20 at 4:00 p.m.

Village Council – Monday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m.

All meetings are at the Town Hall, 154 N. Main St. unless otherwise noted.

The Bluffton Child Development Center has announced an Open House from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday Oct. 10.

The facility is a child care center serving children 6 weeks old until the 12th birthday.

The center has school-bus drop off from Bluffton and Cory-Rawson.

PANDORA—October 8 is October Big Day, the first day of the international effort known as Global Bird Weekend. (There is also a May Big Day.)

Want to participate? You can join birders Deb Weston and David Smith at 9:00 a.m. at The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm. Hike to record the species that you see in the nature preserve.

The complete list will be submitted to ebird.org to join the global team and help set a new record for birding. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
