Historical Bluffton

It was 52 basketball seasons ago. This was the Bluffton High School varsity boys' basketball team. Joe Harris was the coach and Beaverdam had its own high school. The year was 1962-63. Games were in the "old" BHS gym.

It was 85 Bluffton High School graduations ago. The "old" addition to the high school wasn't even constructed when the BHS class of 1930 received their diplomas.

Members of this class knew the meaning of the Great Depression, having graduated just months after the October 1929 stock market crash.

Here's a Bluffton basketball team from 1907 - perhaps is a town team. The only player identified and there's a question mark beside his name is Dr. J.S. Steiner (second from left). On a stretch, could the man in the center wearing a tie be a Hauenstein? Was he the coach?

Any ideas from Icon viewers are welcome.
