New collaborative MBA program opens at Bluffton University

A one-week residency featuring author Bill Grace will kick off the new Collaborative Master of Business Administration program started by Bluffton and Eastern Mennonite universities along with Goshen (Ind.) College.

The tour by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce introduced 23 visiting faculty, administrators and government liaisons from the Nanchong, China, to small-town America.

Ideal Images hosting "Ladies Night" Aug. 13

Ideal Images, 114 E. College Ave., Bluffton, will host a “Ladies Night,” Wednesday, Aug. 13, according to Rachel Webster owner.

The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ideal Images.

“The event will be a fun evening including Sycamore Lake Wine, Tastefully Simple, Premier Jewelry, Nicki Moser cake decorating and promotional spirit wear items to order and purchase, said Webster.

Rally Point River Ride Aug. 9 in Lima

The 6th annual Rally Point River Ride takes place in Lima Saturday, Aug. 9.

Many  families with young children come to particapate in the 20-mile ride based off the Rotary River Walk in Lima.  Young bikers and parents with trailers take off from Heritage Park for a 10-mile ride to Ottawa Metro  Park.

Engaged couples reminded to sign up for Ten Thousand Villages gift registry

Ten Thousand Villages reminds engaged couples that they may sign-up for a gift registry at the Bluffton store. 

And, currently a wedding gift special is being offered, according to Aphaphanh Nussbaum, manger. The special is a pair of celebration goblets, which are silver-plated brass in a velvet keepsake box. The goblets are handcrafted from India.

Chappell-Dick and EMU women earn All-Academic Awards

The Eastern Mennonite University women's track & field team and sophomore Hannah Chappell-Dick picked up one final honor from the 2013-14 athletic year, as each was awarded for academic work by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Royals were one of 158 institutions to earn an All-Academic Team recognition.  Eastern Mennonite had a team GPA of 3.40, easily qualifying for the award for the second straight year.  To earn the award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher.
