Richard Shoemaker served as a Riley Township trustees for 12 years

Life-long farmer, Pandora High School graduate

Richard "Dick" Wayne Shoemaker, 95, died Dec. 15, 2020, at the Heritage in Findlay.  Dick was born May 18, 1925, in Pandora to the late George and Naomi (Crawford) Shoemaker.  On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Ruth Burkholder Shoemaker who survives.

Dean French funeral service on Friday

Dean French, 83, died Dec. 12, 2020, at Bluffton Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.   

Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from noon. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Harry A. Heise was a former mayor of LaFayette

Worked at Superior Coach for 29 years and 18 years as Allen East transportation supervisor

Harry A. Heise, 85, diedon Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at 6:22 a.m. at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1935, in Athens, Michigan, to the later Edgar and Pearl (Jones) Heise. On Aug. 18, 1962, Harry married Dianna Cordes of Alpena, Michigan. and she survives in LaFayette.

Ruth "Alice" Decker was a retired dietician

Ruth "Alice" Decker, 91, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at the Mennonite Memorial Home

Alice was born March 18, 1929, in Hardin County, to the late W. Leslie and Hazel G.  (Weber) Smith. On Sept. 23, 1947, she married Junior I. Decker who preceded her in death on May 6, 2003.

Alice was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Cory High School. She retired as a dietician for the Indian Lake Manor Nursing Home.

Judy Bloom-Miracle was a Bluffton school bus driver

Judith A. Bloom-Miracle, 75, of Findlay and formerly of Bluffton died Dec. 6, 2020, at her residence. 

Judy was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Cathryn (Barry) Minnig. On April 27, 1963, she married Richard Bloom and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2010.  She later married Benjamin Miracle on April 20, 2013. and he survives.

Jane (Badertscher) Walter was born in Bluffton

Jane M. Walter, 81, of Baltimore, Ohio, died at Fairfield Medical Center on Nov. 13, 2020. Jane was born to the late Ralph and Leota (Wilkins) Badertscher on May 11, 1939, in Bluffton, Ohio.

Jane was retired from the Fairfield Medical Center, where she an X-Ray technician.  Jane was a  member of Grace United Church of Christ in Lancaster, and recently at Trinity United Church of Christ in Baltimore. She also sang in the choir at Broad Street Presbyterian, where she met Jim, and at Grace UCC.
