Bluffton High School's String Orchestra participated in the OMEA Large Group High School State Orchestra Adjudicated Event held on Feb. 24-25 in Sandusky High School.
The string orchestra, under the direction of Rachael E. Lewis, performed in Class "B" and received a 'Superior' rating.
Music performed included "Contrast in e minor" by Feese, "Lullaby" by William Hofeldt and "M to the 3rd Power" by Carold Nunez.
A discussion of Rebecca Skloot's book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, March 26, at 3 p.m. Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.
Copies of the book are available at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

As a nurse anesthetist for the past 30 years, Bill Swartley of Bluffton, has spent countless hours as a member of surgical teams in sterile environments, backed up by the latest in medical equipment and supplies.
Clearly, he has a passion for his career, which he describes somewhat tongue-in-cheek as "putting people to sleep for surgery and waking them up."
Look very closely. Our man from the construction crew is in the nose-bleed section of the Bluffton University health and fitness center under construction this winter.
What year did you graduate from Bluffton High School?
2005.
Where did you go to college and what was your major?
I spent four great years at Duke University, majoring in Philosophy and Political Science...and playing my clarinet in the pep band at basketball games.
