UPDATE: The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was likely unintentional; the victim was identified in the Lima News as Grant Siefker.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau is investigating the following incident: On Sunday January 7, 2024 at 2:57 a.m., the Allen County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a shooting at a residence in the 11000 block of Slabtown Rd.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting six fatal crashes resulting in seven fatalities on Ohio’s roadways during the 2023-2024 New Year’s holiday according to provisional statistics. Of the seven fatalities, five of those killed were not wearing an available safety belt.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to drive sober this Christmas. In an effort to reduce fatal and injury crashes, troopers will focus on removing impaired drivers from our roadways from Friday, December 22 through Monday, December 25.

A permanent memorial to Bluffton police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty has been installed at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

Ceremonies on September 23, 2023 brought together families, residents and members of the law enforcement community.
