Bluffton school board will take action on several supplemental contracts during its November board meeting on Monday evening.

Among those contracts include:
• class advisors
• middle school winter coaches

Also on the agenda is action on substitute teacher contracts at $80 per day for:
• Kayla Reffit, Sara Jackson, Bradley DeVier, Martin Jacobs

The board will also act on offering contracts for substitute secretaries, educational aides and long-term substitutes.

Fall is here. Bluffton village crews are current sweeping leaves from curbs. According to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, “The crew starts on one side of town and works its way to the other before starting the process again. With both residents and mother nature providing ample piles of leaves over the past week, it can easily take a number of days to make one pass through town.”

Mehaffie provided the leaf pick up progress and several other matters to council members on Monday, Nov. 3.

Bluffton school board will act on several resignations, contracts and student teaching assignments during its Monday board meeting.

Resignations:
• Hannah Slechter – high school head cheerleading advisor, effective Nov. 1
• Brianna Atkins – high school cheerleading assistant advisor, effective Nov. 1
• Julie Althaus – volunteer cross country, effective Aug. 1

Within the next two weeks, the Village Service Department will begin the annual leaf pickup throughout town, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. He will provide leaf pick-up details during Monday's Bluffton council meeting.

"As the mowing duties begin to slow down, we will begin picking up leaves on a part-time basis," he said.  "Depending on the weather and the leaves, we anticipate the leaf pick-up will last through the end of November."

The Village of Bluffton’s Airport Commission will be meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Bluffton Airport, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.

Michael Wilson, transportation supervisor for Shawnee schools, accepted a contract as maintenance supervisor for Bluffton schools on Oct. 4.

He replaces Bob Holt who retires on Dec. 31. Wilson will begin his Bluffton duties on Nov. 3 during a transitition period. He accepted a two-year contract ending June 30, 2016, at an annual salary of $58,000.
