Village of Bluffton's local government fund allocation for 2012 is $88,884

Local government fund allocation for 2012 was recently released by Rhonda D. Eddy-Stienecker, Allen County auditor.

The village of Bluffton is allocated $88,884.27. Richland Township is allocated $22,051.07. The village of Beaverdam is allocated$13,658.71.

Council meeting: Pool deficit this summer was $12,553

The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool operated with a deficit of $12,553 in 2011, although, as Dave Steiner, council member said, after hearing the report, that the pool is still a good investment for the community.

This year the pool had revenue of $57,746 and expenses of $70,300, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer. She said that this year's report many appear better than previous years because of some accounting changes made.

"This report shows the true cost it takes to operate the pool," she said.

Routine business on tonight's school board agenda

Several routine items are part of tonight's Bluffton school board agenda. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m., in the elementary media center.

Among agenda items include:

$529,526 spent with school district permanent improvement levy funds in 2010-11

Over the course of the past year, the Bluffton school district has completed many different permanent improvement projects.

The following report, by Greg Denecker, superintendent, outlines the revenue that was brought in from this 1/2% permanent improvement income tax, the projects completed with these tax dollars, and the cost of each project.
