The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Allen County Engineer's Office have completed the initial scope for the repair of the Slabtown Road bridge over U.S. 30, which closed in December due to a bridge strike.

The tentative schedule for the repairs sets construction to begin as early as mid-April and will take approximately 60 days to complete.

The ACT test will be given to sophomores at Bluffton High. School on Tuesday, March 2.

Sign-ups is in the BHS guidance office and cost is $46 and checks may be made out to Bluffton Schools.

Payment is due by Jan. 20. All juniors will take the ACT test during school on Feb. 23.  There is no charge for the junior ACT test as is it is a mandated state test.

The next Bluffton American Red Cross blood drive is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the. Youth For Christ building across from Bluffton High School on College Avenue.

This follows first round for staff and residents in late December

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio has scheduling its second round of covid-19 vaccination clinics, according to Jason Cox.

The clinics are administered by CVS health, who visit MHCO campuses. The vaccines are available to all residents and staff who choose to receive it.

The next clinics are at Mennonite Memorial Home on Tuesday, Jan. 12, Hilty Home on Wednesday, Jan. 13, and Willow Ridge on Tuesday, Jan 19.

In addition, the first clinic at Maple Crest’s main building is Wednesday, Jan. 20.
