573 calls for service • Of those, 378 involved patient transports

2020 was a record year for Bluffton EMS total calls, according to Jan Basinger, EMS chief.

Bluffton EMS had 573 calls for service in 2020, which averaged to 1.57 calls per day. Of those 573 call 378 involved patient transports.

This compares to 2019, which experienced 546 calls and 398 patients transported. The accompanying chart shows the four-year call record.

The preliminary design of a diverging diamond interchange for Interstate 75 and County Road 99 in Findlay, Hancock County. 

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, the city of Findlay, and the Hancock County Engineer’s Office have chosen a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) for the rehabilitation project at the Interstate 75 and County Road 99 interchange to combat growing congestion at the important economic hub.

The option was one of four presented to the public during a virtual public involvement meeting in August.

Rumpke now accepts polypropylene plastic tubs: plastic bottles, jugs and other containers  • butter, sour cream and cottage cheese tubs • yogurt and fruit cups

Bluffton recycling bins are about to become tubbier, and it’s a good thing, according to Rumpke Waste and Recycling.

Rumpke, the contractor for Bluffton waste and recycling collection, announced this month an  expansion what it accepts as recycled items.

The addition includes polypropylene plastic tubs. These products are labeled #5. (Please note that not all #5 items may be recycled, however.)
