Findlay Habitat launches digital literacy assistance

Findlay--Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County, through its Financial Opportunity Center (FOC), is launching a new program that connects area residents with the technology and training necessary to function in today’s digital world.

“UNIFI provides a variety of customized services aimed at increasing digital connectivity and support to members of the community through more accessible, affordable, reliable, and adoptable technology,” explains Dustin Fuller, FOC manager. “We offer resources such as devices, data plans and training to  individuals and families that are otherwise unable to benefit from online resources.”

Village of Bluffton Income Tax Information for 2022

The Village of Bluffton has provided the following guidance on 2022 village income tax returns, including instructions for part-year residents, college students and those who moved in 2022.

Cory-Rawson Schools have released the following honor roll for the second quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year, including grades 7-12. By our count, there are 94 students receiving these honors.

Robocalls pretending to be Allen County Public Health

It has come to Allen County Public Health’s attention that county residents may be receiving automated phone calls which appear to be from Allen County Public Health but in fact are not.

The electronic messages discuss personal health matters and ask the recipient
to follow up with the health department.

Allen County Public Health does not use automated systems to discuss personal health matters. Additionally, Allen County Public Health does not disclose personal health information through automatic messages of any kind, including robocalls or voicemails.

If a resident receives a call from Allen County Public Health unexpectedly and does not trust that it is actually from ACPH, please feel free to hang up and call us back at 419-228-4457.

Bluffton Schools changing payment system effective February 1

Bluffton Schools will be transitioning to PaySchools for lunch and school fee payments starting on February 1:

"We have experienced many problems with EZpay and Mealsplus payment systems which were not processing well together.

"In preparation for this change, we need to deposit money into each individual student's account from any family account. Payschools will have individual accounts only; however, parents can make deposits into multiple individual accounts at the same time at checkout.

Allen County filing deadlines for 2023 general election

The Allen County Board of Elections has posted a listing of filing deadlines for the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 and General Election on 2023 Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Village of Bluffton, Bluffton Exempted Village Schools, Richland Township and Village of Beaverdam election information is listed below.

VILLAGE OF BLUFFTON
The Village of Bluffton will have the following seats on the general election ballot:

- Mayor
- Council (2)

Party candidates must file by February 1, 2023 (90 days before the Primary Election). No party candidates must file by May 1, 2023 (1 day prior to Primary Election).
