Parade entries accepted for Blaze parade

 

Area businesses, organizations and churches are invited to participate in the 2012  Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade, sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

The parade takes place on Saturday, Nov. 24, in Bluffton. Parade line up is on Snider Road, near the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool on North Main Street. The line up starts at 4 p.m. The parade takes place at 5 p.m.

Groups interested in entering the parade should contact Junior Weihrauch, parade chair, 20791 State Route 68, Arlington, OH 45814, or call 419-365-5304.

Tuesday polls from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. - here's Bluffton's sample ballot

It happens once every four years. Tuesday, Nov. 6, is election day - the day Americans elect a president.

Volunteers needed Saturday to place Ream Holiday Folk Art Display pieces on Presbyterian lawn

The Bluffton Cultural affairs need help! 

The committee will place the figurines of the Ream Holiday Folk Art Display in the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn on Saturday, Nov. 10. Set up time is from 9 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers are invited to bring a hammer or slug hammer and a drill, or simply come to help.

Don't say that it will snow 28 times this winter

Here's a scary thought: Will the number of snowfalls in one winter equal the date that the first snowfall fell in the season?

If so, we are in for 28 snowfalls during the winter of 2012-13. (On Oct. 28 was recorded 1.1 inches of snow.) Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer, didn't confirm that fact, but did provide a summary of the October weather. Here goes:
