By Mariah Fleming, Bluffton Girl Scout Troop 8 Cadette
November 9, 2009 Girl Scout Troop 8 decided to make a garden in Woodhaven. That day they went to look at the condition of the garden and make measurements to see how much space they had to work with.
Because it was winter, the girls of Troop 8 started planning how the garden should look, and what plants they would need and want.
In March 2010 they broke ground. They moved the soil around to see how it was and what they would need to make it so they could plant. The girls ended up with 2 gardens.
James Bond visited Bluffton earlier this week. The Icon spotted him in a black Caddy in the village parking lot. Or, maybe James Bond is a stretch, but it could be if you study this plate long enough.

A bid opening scheduled for July 8 for the proposed water and sewer projects on South Main and North Dixie Highway has been moved to July 22 at 11 a.m.
According to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, 11 sets of plans have been requested for the project. He added that the project end date was extended to allow for any possible delay in the project start due to the annexation process.
