Pre-order copies of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio history book available

Pre-orders are now available for a Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio history book, "How it came to be...and to grow, 1945-2019."

From the author: “Pioneering, no matter the field or century, is not an easy task.  The now-ubiquitous field of adult nursing care was in its infancy after WWII when Ohio Mennonite churches saw a need and answered that call. 

"Through many early struggles to later challenges, the Bluffton and Pandora communities kept the faith and grew, always with the needs of its residents at the forefront.

ODOT road work will affect traffic patterns next week

Involving State Route 103, U.S. 30 and I-75

Several construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Allen County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

• Interstate 75 at the village of Beaverdam will experience lane restrictions and ramp closures for paving and reconstruction. Nighttime lane closures to resume on Sunday, June 20. Lane restrictions expected nightly, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., for nighttime paving operations.

• U.S. 30 under the Slabtown Road overpass, between Stewart Road and Mayberry Road, will be restricted to one lane in both directions June through August to repair the structure.

Music-themed Bluffton Discovery Day June 26

Nothing like a summer Saturday in Bluffton • Check out all the activities planned

A music-themed Discovery Day with outdoor activities and a Bluffton Bucks prize drawing will be hosted by Bluffton businesses on Saturday, June 26.

The village’s downtown district along Main Street has more than 60 shops, services and restaurants. Bluffton also hosts a Saturday morning Bluffton Cars & Coffee gathering and the Bluffton Farmers Market.
