Pandora entrepreneur wins $1,000 in Bluffton Center for Entrepreneur "Big Idea" Contest

By Austin Arnold, Icon BGSU intern
This fall, a Big Idea Contest sponsored by the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) encouraged development of creative and unique ideas from area entrepreneurs.

Ideas ranging from senior citizen-friendly home design to a robotic ice cream maker sprung from the minds of persons in northwestern Ohio, which were entered into BCE's contest. The contest winners now have more than just an idea; they have a little extra money, as well, as a plan to possibly start their own businesses some day, thanks to BCE.

Hankish scholarship now available for BHS seniors

A new scholarship is now available to a Bluffton High School senior who intends to major in education, according to Greg Denecker, Bluffton school superintendent.

"This scholarship was made possible due to Theda D. Hankish, who died on Sept. 16, 2008. This award is set up in honor of her parents Charles Hankish Sr. and Sophia Hankish," he said.

Each academic year a scholarship committee will award a $1,000 scholarship to one Bluffton High School senior who is entering the field of education to become a teacher.
