Tree Commission meets Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The Village of Bluffton’s Tree Commission will meet Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the  town hall, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.

Ralph Miller, new council appointee, has a long history in the community

Bluffton’s newest council member, Ralph Miller, 126 N. Jackson St., is a relative newcomer as a Bluffton resident, but his work in Bluffton goes back nearly a half century.
 
Miller was appointed to a vacancy on council on Monday. He is an eight-year Bluffton resident, however in 1969 his company, Ralph Miller Construction, built what is today the Chase building on South Main Street. At the time of its construction it was Central Savings Association.

Haley Baker BHS January student of the month

Haley Baker is the Bluffton High School student of the month for January. Haley is an junior grader with a 3.759 GPA. She is the daughter of Jeff and Tracy Baker.

Haley is a member of the National Honor Society, is vice president of the Junior class, is a member of the Student Senate and also plays volleyball and runs track. She was awarded the "Defensive Player" award by her coach and volleyball team and also named to the "Second Team" by the NWC.

The Icon caught up with Abbey Gambrell, Bluffton High School sophomore. She sold tickets at last week's junior high girls' basketball game.

Hunter named HCAC Track Athlete of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University’s Sarah Hunter (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio/Riverdale) ran away from the 800-meter field at the Findlay Classic over the weekend and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
