Hanover stays atop HCAC with 67-57 win over Beavers

The Bluffton University men's basketball team battled back from an early deficit, but Hanover College was too much for the Beavers down the stretch on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. Hanover improved to 13-2 overall and 9-1 in the Heartland Conference following a 67-57 victory over Bluffton (5-9, 1-6 HCAC).

Bluffton women outpace Hanover 77-68

The Bluffton University women's basketball team continued its hot run with a 77-68 win over Hanover College on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. Bluffton moved to 11-5 overall and 6-3 in the Heartland Conference with its ninth win in the past 10 games, while Hanover fell to 7-7 and 4-5 in the HCAC.

Bluffton girls hold on to early lead vs. Riverdale

The Bluffton High School girls basketball team used a balanced offense to defeat visiting Riverdale 48-38 in a non-conference battle Saturday afternoon, January 22.

The Lady Pirates improved to 14-4 overall with the win. Riverdale fell to 8-9 with the loss.

Bluffton led 15-10 after the first quarter as senior post Kylie Stackhouse canned three baskets. The Pirate girls extended the lead to 27-16 at halftime with a 12-6 second stanza. The teams battled to an almost-even 22-21 second half.

Bluffton women dominate Manchester, 71-44

The Bluffton University women's basketball team held Manchester to 15 points in the first half en route to a dominating 71-44 victory on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022. Bluffton improved to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in the Heartland Conference thanks to eight wins in its last nine games. Manchester fell to 6-7 and 3-3 in the HCAC.

Beavers return to pool at ONU

he Bluffton University women's swimming team made a grand re-entry back into the pool on Friday, Jan. 21, after a two-month holiday hiatus. Bluffton went up against Ohio Wesleyan University and host Ohio Northern.

Two-sport standout Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) continued her assault on the record book with a 2nd place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:21.62) and a 3rd place showing in the 100-yard fly (1:05.40).

Bluffton boys defeat Lancers, win streak at 11

The Bluffton High School boys basketball team remained first in the Northwest Conference by winning convincingly 63-43 at host Lincolnview in a league bout Friday night, January 21.

Kyler Kinn tallied 14 of his game-high 17 points in the first half to pace the Pirates to their 11th win in a row. He sank seven of 11 shots from the field.

Bluffton led 14-12 after one quarter, but seized a 32-19 halftime edge with a big 18-7 second quarter. The Pirates outscored the Lancers 31-24 in the second half to pull away methodically and post the win.
