Girls' soccer: It's Bluffton 2 - Mohawk 0

Bluffton HIgh School girls' soccer team defeated Mohawk 2-0 on Oct. 20.

Abbey Parkins scored 2 goals for Bluffton.  First half assist from Ashley Augsburger to Parkins. 

Second half assist from Averey Rumer off a flicked header to Parkins who finished with a header to go up 2-0. 

Bluffton's goalkeeper, Jadyn Barhorst, recorded 8 saves in the shutout win, with the support of her defense.

Boys' soccer: BHS 7 New Knoxville 0 - sectional tourney

Bluffton boys' soccer team blanked New Knoxville 7-0 in the opening sectional tournament round played at BHS on Oct. 20.

Game stats follow:

Halftime: B, 4-0 Goals: (B) Harlow, (B) Andreas, (B) Nester, (B) Harlow, (B) Smucker, (B) Tatarkov, (B) Burrell. Assists: (B) Kingsley (2), (B) Bourassa, (B) Routson, (B) I Schwab.

Pirate football: Defense picks off four Ada passes in big win

The place to be was War Memorial Stadium in Ada on Friday evening. 

The field turned out to be aptly named as the Bluffton Pirate football team fought, scratched and clawed their way to a 27-21 victory over Ada. The win was of high importance for a few reasons. 

First, it stopped a three-game losing streak for the Pirates.  In a much longer term, it snapped an eight-year losing streak at the hands of the Bulldogs.  Both Ada and Bluffton owned 5-3 records heading into Week 9.

Football Pirates move up to 10th in Region 22

Following a big win on Friday against Ada, the Bluffton High School football team moved from 12th to 10th in Division VI state computer rankings. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs.

BHS Barnett NWC male runner of the year; Nisly female runner-up

Northwest Conference cross country meet - Bluffton's Jacob Barnett ran the best individual time of 17:00 in winning the boys' race and was voted by the coaches as NWC Male Runner of the Year.  Boone Brubaker (CG; 17:04) finished second with Austin Elick (LV, 17:12) completing the race as the third place finisher.

Pirate defeat Ada 27-21 on the road

Bluffton High School's football team defeated Ada on the road 27-21 in a Northwest Conference contest.
