How about those Pirates! BHS 48 - Paulding 0

Bluffton Pirates football team had a big day, shutting out Paulding Panthers 48-0 at Harmon Field on Oct. 24. A stadium full the Pirates showed up in all phases to come out on top.

Mid-way through the first quarter Mitchell Ault found Robbie Stratton on a 27 yard pass completion for a touchdown. Point after kick by Kaleb Jefferson was good, 7-0 Bluffton. During the 2nd quarter BHS put their foot on the gas pedal and didn’t let up scoring 5 touchdowns.

Three Pirates named to NCOSA all-league teams

Three Bluffton High School girls' soccer players were name to the North Central Ohio Soccer Association all-league teams this week.

Name to the first team is Sarah Theisen, sophomore, forward. Named to the second team is Katie Burkholder, sophmore, midfielder. Named to the third team is Jadyn Barhorst, sophomore, goalkeeper.

Mark Delisle wins week 9; one more week remains in Icon high school football contest

The winner of Week 9 of The Icon Football Contest is Mark Delisle.  Two contestants correctly picked 9 games this week and Mark was declared the winner by virtue of the 2nd tie-breaker.

Bluffton High School jumped to a 42-0 halftime lead to defeat Paulding 48-0 on Friday night.

Kevin King co-coach of East team volleyball match

The 2014 All-Star Volleyball Match for District 8 seniors will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Van Wert High School. Admission is $2 for adults $1 for students.

There will be one match of three games between the players of the two divisions.  Those schools represented include Division I/II/III East (Coaches:  Bluffton, OG):
Bluffton, Columbus Grove, Findlay, Liberty Benton, Lima Central Catholic, Ottawa-Glandorf, Shawnee; Division I/II/III West (Coaches:  Elida, Wapak), Celina, Coldwater, Defiance, Elida, Fort Recovery, Parkway, St. Marys, Van Wert, Wapakoneta

Sarah Thiesen named to first team all-NWC girls' soccer

Bluffton High School girls' soccer player Sarah Thiesen, sophomore, was named to the first team all-Northwest Conference in girls' soccer. Jadyn Barhorst, sophomore, was named to the second team. Kayla Kindle, freshman, was named honorable mention.

Allen East sophomore Leah Casey was voted the 2014 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year. Lamar Houston (AE) was selected as "Coach of the Year" in the balloting.
