6-0 Pirates face Arlington in boys' holiday tourney title game

Here's results from the opening night of the McDonald's Bluffton boys' basketball tourney:

Arlington defeated Allen East 61-48, and Bluffton defeated Cory-Rawson 57-43.

Allen East (home team) will face Cory-Rawson (away team) in the consolation game Tuesday night at 6 p.m.

The championship game will follow with Arlington (home team) facing Bluffton (away team).

Pirates eighth at Allen County wrestling Invite

Bluffton had several wrestlers perform well at the Allen County invitational Wrestling Tournament held over the weekend at Bluffton.

The tourney's most valuable player was Wes Buettner (195)  of Delphos St. John's. In 2012 he was the MVP at 152. Elida won the event scoring 290 points.

Parkins and Schmutz each can 22 in BHS win over LCC

Parkins and Schmutz hit 22 points each as the Bluffton High School girls' basketball topped Lima Central Catholic 66 to 63 in overtiime tonight at BHS.

It's Bluffton girls over Van Buren 52-35

Bluffton High School girls' defeated Van Buren 52-35 in a non-league basketball game at Bluffton on Tuesday.

Nancy Elwood's 257 high women's game at Southgate Lanes

Nancy Elwood bowled a 257 for women's high game and Onalee Shepler reported a 626 high series at Southgate Lanes for the week ending Dec. 12, according to Derek Dukes.

Boys' ball: Pirates romp over Waynesfield 70-41

Eleven players scored for Bluffton in a 70-41 romp over Waynesfield-Goshen on Dec. 9. The Pirates move to 3-0 on the season. Bluffton JV defeated Waynesfield 61-24.
