EMS Chief Jan Basinger provided the following August 2024 call report: 71 Total calls for August / 48 Medical / 7 Hospital to Hospital Transports / 2 Motor Vehicle Accidents / 12 Fire Calls / 2 Special Events / 51 Patients transported/ 568 Calls for January-August. Pirates run at Grove Invite

COLUMBUS GROVE – The Bluffton cross country teams competed at the massive Columbus Grove Invitational in the Red Division on Saturday, August 31.

St. Francis DeSales won the boys red meet with just 45 points. Ottawa-Glandorf nosed out Toledo St. Ursula Academy for first in the girls red meet, 87-96.

The Pirate boys finished 22nd out of 26 teams with 617 points. The Bluffton girls came in 19th out of 22 squads with 461 points.

Blood shortage: Severe weather strains Red Cross blood supply

The American Red Cross continues to experience a national blood emergency as remnants of Hurricane Debby and other severe weather events across the country have further complicated efforts to rebuild the nation’s blood supply. 

Those in unaffected areas are urged to make an appointment to give now.
