J. Denny Weaver memoir celebrated

Dr. J. Denny Weaver, professor emeritus of religion, returned to Bluffton University’s campus to celebrate the release of, “New Moves: A Theological Odyssey.” The theological memoir follows Weaver’s career as a theologian and the development of his nonviolent understanding of Jesus’ atonement.

Winter instrumental concert with theme of hope and joy

Bluffton University’s Winter Instrumental Concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Bluffton Middle School girls basketball is tops in NWC

This year the Bluffton Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team had a perfect 19-0 season and is the 2023-2024 NWC conference champion. 

Coach Larry Hermiller told the Icon that the team's accomplishment is all the greater following an 11-8 season the prior year.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys basketball team convincingly defeated visiting backyard rival Allen East 69-47 in a Northwest Conference battle for second place Friday night, February 16.

PHOTO Garret Bogart signs with Defiance College as quarterback

On February 15, Bluffton High School quarterback Garret Bogart signed a letter of intent to play Quarterback at Defiance College. Bogart led the Pirates to a 12-2 record in Fall 2023. He is now Bluffton's all time record holder for pass completion percentage at 68.8% of his passes.

“Journey of an Afrofuturist” featured at English Festival Forum

Maurice Broaddus, a writer, community organizer and teacher, will share, “Journey of an Afrofuturist,” during Bluffton’s English Festival Forum at 11 a.m. on Feb. 27 in Yoder Recital Hall.
