Northbound interstate traffic is being re-routed through Bluffton because high water closed the interstate (northbound lane only). Note the stopped traffic under the overpass.

Where do things stand at 2:30 p.m.?

Who would have predicted it? The Big and Little Riley offered a quick and devastating encore of its August 2007 flood only 3 1/2 years later.

The combination of a 6-inch-plus snowfall on Friday teamed with high temperatures over the weekend spell FLOOD in Bluffton.

First the snow, then the melt

High water - Bluffton awoke to high waters on the Riley on Monday, Feb. 28. This view shows East College Avenue at Harmon Field. The water line nearly covered the fencing around the stadium.
