March 17 next Thursday Tea at The Inn at ONU

Effective immediately, The Inn at Ohio Northern University offers Third Thursday Tea at the Inn every third Thursday of the month from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Inn. The garden courtyard is open for seating (weather permitting).

Third Thursday Tea at the Inn will feature a specific tea and dessert but will include a variety of teas and pastries. So that The Inn may plan perfectly for your experience, reservations are requested.

Bluffton softball pitcher named HCAC pitcher of the week

Freshman Kayla Owens (Cincinnati/McAuley) was dominating on the mound for the Beavers in her first week of collegiate softball and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

The freshman pitcher tossed Bluffton's first no-hitter in two seasons, posting a five-inning 8-0 win over Beloit. She finished the week with a 1.24 earned run average and posted a 2-1 record in six appearances.

Owens threw 22.2 innings during the week with 15 strikeouts and held opponents to a .198 batting average.

At tea with President Lincoln and his wife at the library April 14

On Thursday, April 14, The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will host a formal Tea with the Lincolns, featuring President Abraham and Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln as portrayed by Roger and Judy Jenot of Carey. The tea begins at 5:45 p.m. and will be held in the library's Richland Room.

President Lincoln and his first lady will speak about their experiences from the 1800s. The Jenots bring a wealth of experience to these roles: they have traveled to many places associated with the Lincoln family and the Civil War era.

Developmental volleyball league offered by BFR

Girls in grades 4, 5 or 6 are encouraged to participate in the Spring Skills League at BFR. The five-week program will combine skill

development with intramural league play. Players will participate in anassessment day on Saturday, April 9, with weekly practices beginning the week of April 11. Matches will be held on Saturday, April 16, 30, May 7, 14 and 21. Cost is $50 ($30 BFR members).

Love Legacy Workshop rescheduled for April 4

Beyond Budgeting, Bluffton, will host an informative workshop "Leaving A Love Legacy," from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., Monday, April 4, at the Bluffton Public Library Richland Room, according to Beth A. Boehr.

The workshop was originally scheduled for Feb. 28 but was rescheduled due to the flooding on that day.

"During the interactive workshop I will share what documents are needed and practical organizational tips so that everything can be easily located in case of an emergency," said Boehr.
